About Sheri Haupt
Nature has always been where I feel most alive.
I love exploring new places, watching wildlife, standing beside a waterfall, or simply waiting for the light to change. Photography gives me a reason to slow down, pay attention, and fully experience moments that might otherwise pass too quickly.
I’m the photographer behind Profoundly Nature, where I create fine art inspired by wildlife, wild places, and the moments in nature that move me. My photography has taken me from Alaska and Wyoming to Costa Rica, Peru, Hawaii, Greece, and beyond. But what stays with me most isn't simply where I've been. It's the moments I've been fortunate enough to witness.
I've watched baby sea turtles make their first journey toward the ocean and whales breach from the water. I've witnessed mothers caring for their young, quiet interactions between animals, and wildlife enduring against the elements. I've watched extraordinary light transform a landscape and experienced those fleeting moments when everything seems to become completely still.
Those are the moments I create my work around.
I want to remember not only what I saw, but how it felt to be there — the wonder, the stillness, the excitement, and sometimes the tenderness of what was unfolding in front of me. Through my art, I try to preserve something of that experience and share it with someone who wasn't standing beside me when it happened.
Not everyone will have the opportunity to witness a whale breach, watch a wild animal care for its young, or stand in a beautiful place as the first light of morning changes everything. Through my work, I hope others can experience a little of what I felt in those moments — and perhaps feel their own connection to the natural world.
My two Siberian Huskies are frequent companions on my adventures. When they're not with me, you'll often find me carrying far too much camera gear into the woods, standing in water, photographing from a kayak, or simply waiting to see what nature decides to reveal.
